It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter to welcome you back to Carr Elementary for the 2018-2019 school year.
At Carr, we consider it a privilege to work with your children and look forward to fostering a challenging, nurturing, and fun learning environment. The staff at Carr places a great emphasis on collaborating with each other so that students are receiving the best instruction possible. We believe that all students have the ability to succeed both academically and personally and look forward to working with students to accomplish this goal.
Community involvement is a key component to the success of students at Carr. Our staff welcomes parent volunteers, high school volunteers and community volunteers as key contributors to supporting the learning of our students as well as the culture of the district of Lincoln Park. We welcome and encourage parent volunteers and hope that you will take advantage of the many opportunities available to you. These opportunities include attending PTA events, working in classrooms, chaperoning field trips, after-school events and many more. Please contact your child’s teacher or our office for ways to become involved in our school. You can also find information on upcoming events on our PTA board at the main entrance.
Along with the teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established at Carr. As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors--teachers, students and parents-- are excited to be here! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun and nurturing environment. My door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in, call or email me to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make Carr Elementary the best! I look forward to continuing to foster relationships with your families, your children and the community for years to come.
